Jeff Wolf – Sculpting From The Inside Out
Jeff Wolf – World Renowned Sculptor presents Sculpting From The Inside Out
What is “Sculpting From The Inside Out?”
It’s exactly like it sounds – starting with the bone structure, laying on the muscles and tissue, then continuing to work outward to the skin, hair, or outer layer of the animal or object you are sculpting.
In this webinar, Jeff explained how anatomy is so important to improving your art projects. It doesn’t matter if you draw, engrave, carve, or sculpt. You simply cannot disregard anatomy. This is something you must understand in order to “get to that next level.”
Jeff goes through the process of sculpting a horse skull, but he also explains how every animal, including deer, elk – even humans – have similar structures that this process relates closely to.
Learning to sculpt in clay – before you carve – will save you a ton of time – and money. Sculpting (Modeling) Clay is much more forgiving than wood. Get it right in the clay, then carve your project. This is the way experienced carvers and sculptors do it. They work out the mistakes in the clay first, getting the design just right – then the carving is much quicker and the results are far better (and you never ruin your buddy’s gun stock!)

Here is one comment we received regarding Jeff’s Webinar Presentation.
Hi Jeff!
Thank you for taking the time and presenting your clay equine scultping webinar!!!
Several great things I enjoyed the most:
Your style of teaching with your slideshow. Outlining first with a red pen and than showing us the actual clay piece – step by step!
Reminding us to “do our homework” in understanding the structure or anatomy on anything we do!!!!
I expected a little of a teaching slideshow, but not the sharing of your “artistic eye”.
By showing us your gallery: One shape leads to another / making your work artistic and interesting to the viewers and not just a sculpted piece.
Reminds me of only seeing the stars through our glasses versus seeing the “galaxy” through a telescope!!!
I too have horses, but had to sell our prize and possessions 3 years ago, due to certain circumstances.
My wife and I love wildlife and nature. We can learn so much from them.
Your work and passion stands out!!!!!
Thanks again for sharing your gift!!!
